N73 Bluetooth

Thinking of getting TomTom for the N73 with the Bluetooth GPS. How does it manage (if at all) to take calls on my Bluetooth headset while it is connected to the GPS?

Thanks

TomTom 6 works fantastic on my N73. The N73 has no problems with 2concurrent Bluetooth connections (GPS receiver and carkit). Voice instructions go through the carkit to the fixed car speakers.
Also, during phonecalls, TomTom simply goes on flawlessly (obviously without voice instructions during the phonecall). I can even make appointments at the same time (hold down the menu button to switch to Papyrus) so then 3 applications run concurrently (phonecall, tomtom and papyrus).

If you still need to buy a GPS receiver, I strongly recommend Nokia LD-3W. In fact, almost all GPS receivers work flawlessly with the N73, but the Nokia has the unique feature that it switches to stand-by mode when you leave TomTom. It can stay in stand-by for 7 days without charging. This means that you generally do not switch off the GPS receiver so waiting on a cold fix is no longer necessary.

POINT OF ATTENTION: if you purchase a N73, then there is a reasonable chance that there is still firmware Version 2 on it. Make sure you upgrade to version 3 before you start using the N73. Version 2 has some bluetooth issues which have been resolved in version 3.0638.

I noticed that lots op people on this forum have problems with slow instructions from TomTom. I do not understand because it works fast on mine.

Perhaps the mini SD card has something to do with this. I have a 2 GB Sandisk highspeed (!) card.

No problem for me either, a very stable piece of software and as you posted it interacts with the N73 a treat.

As for GPS receiver, there are a few out there that now last for up to 30hrs and have smart power management. This makes the N73 ideal for taking out cycling and walking. Try searching BlueNEXT Bluetooth GPS . Unfortunately although I can recommend the GPS receiver I can not recommend the store I bought it from.
