questions about software from E70

I just bought an E70.

1)What is "Launcher MailforExchange" used for ? I personally use my gmail smtp/pop from phone to send/receive emails. Do I need the "Launcher MailforExchange" app ? I tried to remove it from phone but the uninstallation process stops with the "unable to delete file" error message.

2)do I need to keep the "ZipManager" app on the phone? Because I don't plan to compress/decompress files on my phone. I tried to unistall it as well but I received the same error message as with the "Launcher MailforExchange" app.

3)When I first used Nokia PC Suite, it has installed on the phone an app called "MMSSync". What's this app used for ?

I would appreciate your help. thank you.

You do not need MailforExchange unless you plan to sync with an MS Exchange server. I used pop mail for several months before installing this application when I started using an Exchange server toi get my mail. The same is true for ZipManager, you only need it is you plkan to use Zip files. However, if you remove this application and then get a Zip file as an email attachment, you will not be able to open the attachment. As for the MMSSync application, this is relatively new. It came with one of the recent PC Suite upgrades. I believe that it's necessary to sync MMSs with PC Suite but I'm not certain.

thanks for the answer mark. Any ideas on how I can remove the Launcher or the Zipmanager ? Because when I try to remove them I receive an "Unable to delete file" error message.

If they are installed on your phone memory, reformat the phone. If they are installed on a memory card, reformat the memory card. However, since they are causing no harm, I suggest you wait until the new firmware for the E70 comes out, which is supposed to be soon. Then, if you really want to get rid of these applications, install the new firmware and it will, essentially, reformat your phone. You can then format your memory card (not required but I find it works best if you just start completely "clean" with new firmware).
