Please help nokia 6630 — Nokia 6630, 6680, 6681 and 6682

Hi all, I am down on my knees and beg for some advice as to how to get a 6630 unlocked without having to contact the service provider. :con?

I bought a brand spanking new Nokia 6630 on ebay just before xmas, unaware that it is can not easily be unlocked at the market. :stupid: me!!

To cut a long story short - the phone is locked to 3. Have spoken to a dozen customer service advisers and they won't unlock the phone cause it is registered in someone elses name and they don't support changing customer ownership. The person I bought the phone from has also disappeared of the planet or is just ignoring my pleas for help. Once she gives 3 the ok to change the ownership they will unlock it at a charge.

Is there anyway around this?

Only 3 can unlock the device.

here in philippines... all kinds of phone can be easily unlocked for only $10-$30 only!!! because every people here in philippines do have a cellphone... nokia is the best selling brand here. the charge for unlocking is stunning low coz so many cellphone repair/modification of cellphone here in the philippines are everywhere.. even on public market just everywhere..

Thank you both.

I finally got hold of he seller and 3 told her that they WILL NOT unlock the phone because she cancelled her contract with them.

And then they wonder why people cancel their contracts! I am just going to sell, sadly.

Thanks again for all the advice - with regards buying unlocking codes. Been there and done that - does not work.
