How do I hide a folder of pictuers on my MMC so it doesn't show up in the Gallery.
I have some "Personal" photos that I like to have but don't want others to see them.
can I point the Nokia gallery to a folder only? I did search and some mentioned using FEXEXplore to make it private but the software doesn't work on N80 yet.
any suggestions?
thanks
Agreed, I don't want every photo of my girlfriend turning up in my gallery when I'm showing people the photo of the sunset I took the other day.
The only suggestion I have is maybe use an encryption tool, there are some out there, but then you have to pay for most of them, and decrypt it when you want to see the files.
An 'in house' solution would be nice.
I think theres some sloppy ways of doing it like changing the file extension so it only shows a broken link instead of the full pic, but of course you then need to change them back after when you want to look at it.
You can use a thid party file manager to change the properties of the file to hidden. That way it will not show in the gallery. Its a bit tedious to do it, but if you want to do it this is the best way that I am aware of.
Ive just tried to change a photo atribute to hidden and done so with y-browser... but it still shows in the gallery
Fexplore doesn't work on N80 yet... i'm using Y-Browser and it's kinda working.
Zip the files that you dont want to be seen. After that, with a zip program, like mobile rar, you can unzip if you want to see that files.
Hey there, download y-browser. You can go through and set the attributes for files on ur card. like, hidden or system or read only and stuff.
the annoying thing is, while you can select and apply attributes to many at once, it doesnt work.
So, to hide files, you have to go through individually in Ybrowser and select hidden. This does work well once youve done it tho, as they are hidden from gallery once you do a restart (or remove the card), but you can still view them when you want to through ybrowser
hope this helps
Try this... sorta works for me -
Create (at least) two albums. One for public viewing and one for those, erm, more sensitive photos. Then before allowing anyone else to see the phone's display go GALLERY > OPTIONS > ALBUMS > VIEW ALBUMS > [name of 'public' folder]
Now only those pictures you don't mind others seeing will be shown spinning about on view.

Cool, that is a NICE feature of y-browser, but like you said it doesn't work unless you manually do each one. So useless really! Can't even mark the folder. Ugh!
