I'm using Windows XP Service Pack 2.
PC Suite 6.82.22.0
Connecting via USB cable.
I have made a number of backups from my Nokia N80 using the Content Copier. I can see these files in my C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Nokia\ContentCopier folder.
I made a back up early this evening as I was looking at upgrading my firmware. I set it to copy both phone memory and memory card.
Anyhow I upgraded the firmware and tried to do a restore from the file I backed up earlier. All looks OK on my phone but I don't have any contacts (and I had lots and lots before!).
Is it possible they are there somewhere but I need to set my contacts to find them (I did try contacts/options/copy/from memory card but there was nothing there).
I've since tried to restore from earlier files and again all is OK but no contacts.
Please can someone help!!!!
You should have syncronised with outlook that way at least you would have had an additional backup of your contacts.
Sorted this now- searched around on the boards and found out about the Nokia Contact Transfer application.

Where did you find that Nokia Contact Transfer application? I'm having the exact same problem but with a Nokia 6630 phone.
EDIT: Ok, I found that application on the Nokia discussion foruns:

It did restore all my contacts, but unfortunately it didn't restore my contact groups... does anyone know if there's a way to restore that as well?
FYI: replace the hxxp for http... I know I don't have at least 10 posts (well, I used to have, before the forum database issue or whatever), but as I consider this to be a major help for a great deal of Nokia owners, I hope that the moderators keep the link in here.

The Application Nokia_Contact_Transfer.exe was of great help. It helped me restore about 500 contacts, which i had lost after the firmware upgrade.
