N71 Main camera problem

My N71 had its main camera stop working all of a sudden. I can open the camera function, but the viewfinder does not show, and it will not take pics (I can switch to video mode, but it will still not show or record anything). I can still use the second camera wihtout any problems (but 0.3Mp facing toward you is kind of useless).

I've restarted the phone, tried resetting to factory defaults (but it asks for a code that I don't have?). Nothing has happened physically to the phone, I used it one time and the next time the camera didn't work, no memory card removed, not connected to a PC in the mean time.

I (aside from the camera just being plain dead) suspect there may be a software error at work here. Is there any known precedent with symptoms like these? (Other than the camera thing, the whole phone is working fine)

Hi my phone have today just arrived from service because of the same problem (thought I have N73)...Only black screen and icons appeared when camera was opened....the camera was broken..try to give the phone to your ear and listen it...if you hear just very quiet KLIK....KLIK...KLIK...KLI...and again and again...I think you'll have the same problem as I had and your only possibility is service....It's in no money if you have the warranty.
Have a nice day...And let me know how did you succeed...
