Time zones and calendar entries

When I travel to another country and reset the system time on the E61 it has a very irritating quirk: it shifts all the appointment times in the Calendar.

e.g. I live in the UK and have an appointment a few days hence at 10:30 in Brussels. I fly to Brussels, put the E61 in the appropriate time zone and, oh dear, the appointment now shows as due at 11:30. This is very irritating.

Is there a sensible way round this feature?

Thanks

You have to put the appointment in for the correct time for that timezone. Its fairly standard in PIM / smartphones.

i.e. You should meetings for a timezone at the correct time relative to your current timezone.

The reason for this, I would assume, is that when your dealing with someone in another country (e.g. a phone conference) you have to take account of this. It also means your principal timezone is not changed (e.g. you chnage your timezone, look at your claendar and think I have that time free when in fact you dont).

An alternative solution is to use the Clock or Settings app to temporarily change your time zone to that of the appointment, input the appointment and then switch back. Saves you the trouble and potential error of calculating the difference yourself.
