memory expansion

Hi

Nokia's page for the new 5500 Sport Music Edition confuses me a bit. It says:

"New in Nokia 5500 Sport Music edition: expandable memory for microSD card up to 1GB (available separately)"
(source: www nokia co uk / A4221004 )

Does that mean that the original 5500 does NOT accept memory cards larger than 512 MB?
If not, how much does it accept? 1 GB? 2 GB?
The wikipedia-page ( en wikipedia org / wiki / Nokia_5500 ) says 1 GB

Another question:
How is the speed of the UI of the 5500 compared to, say, a normal S40 phone?

sincerely Jon

I have a 1GB card in my 5500 and it works fine. Probably like a lot of Nokia phones you can put a larger memory card than the spec sheet says and it will work...probably search around the net and see if someone has done it successfully. The phone does not work as quickly as an s40 phone in opening apps, etc., but it's faster than my N91 by just a bit. I'd say it's about "typical" for a 3rd generation symbian phone regarding speed.

Yes, lot of retailers beleive and say that Nokia 5500 memory could be extended upto 2GB and just works fine 😊
