What is it with the blue beep light when the phone goes idle?
anybody knows the purpose?

It's the sleep mode light. You can turn it off in the phone settings menu.

Blue light is the sensor to save the battery power, it checks the room light and based on the lighting conditions screen contrast adjusts to save battery power. Its great feature for more battery life.
In sleep mode.. we dont use phone.. so if keep the sleep mode light will stop checking the lighting conditions..
