Nokia E61 + TomTom Navigator 6

:con? 😞 Can anyone help me out..??....I have obtained a copy (DVD) of TomTom Navigator 6 (Symbian S60 ver. 9.01) I have loaded all folders and files onto a mini SD which I have in my Nokia E61. The instructions that came with the DVD are as follows:
1) Extract TomTom_6.010.rar to a new directory on your PC
2) Connect PC to Phone via datacable
3) Copy the ENTIRE contents of the new TomTom directory from 1) on the PC to the MEMORY CARD on your phone
4) Disconnect phone using the 'Safely Remove Hardware' Icon from the XP Tool Tray
5) TomTom will auto-install on the phone
6) Reconnect Phone to PC with data cable

.... Unfortunately...TT did not install automatically as stated...and no matter how many methods I try...I am still unable to load TTNav6 on my phone...

I do not see anywhere *.sis files (Symbian installation files).I would have thought this is important..???...all other software installed on my phone used *.sis files for installation???

Anyone out there with any ideas....??

Ta. Mike 😞

Are you certain that this is a Symbian version of TomTom? This application is available for several different operating systems.

I thought you should use TomTom Home to install it (or is that just for maps?). If it doesn't work, you may wish to contact tomtom support. I remember that one of the tricks was to get data to phone not via PC suite connection but rather data one - was that your case?

Yeh....
thanks for that....
I have tried with just data transfer and not PC Suite...??

Cheers

Mike

Did you try using winzip and opening the rar file and selecting all the files and extracting to ur memory card drive?
