change cover for N80

Yeah, how do you change it - is it possible?

I have a 6 month old N80 which has been in a "body glove" cover (which helps cover it but not fully) - the paint finish was so badly applied during manufacture that it's all peeling off/rubbing off in my pocket etc and it looks much older than it is. Poor quality finish.

If there's a way to change the cover I'd be really pleased, but I can't see how it would be done that easily.

Of course, try telling the retailer you bought it from that it's "Not fit for purpose" and I bet you would come up against a wall of non-acceptance from them.

Best thin to do when you come to a new forum is to do a search for all the questions you have because they have all been answered before, that way you will find your answer much quicker,

there is a thread somewhere here with instructions on how to dismantle youe phone, also there is a thread here describing new facia's and where to get them.

When the slider is up, the back of the slider and the top (where the IR sensor is) are usually not changed.

Hi Kraven - Have you any experience of the black material - does it scrape/peel off like the silver painted one does to reveal the white/grey plastic beneath? Mine is now a mix of silver and white/grey plastic colour... so maybe a switch to black would be a good change to make 😊

I have a mate who I changed a silver to a black housing for and it looked (IMHO) ... pants.

As kraven has said, not all parts come as standard to interchange so your left with a black front frame but silver back and top. It looks botched.

I ended up changing it a new silver one instead for the fella.

yea and the new facia's dont actually cost too much, so you can probably buy several and change when they look bad ..

aye, cheap as chips...

I dont think there is an official nokia facia anyway, so dont expect any of them to last too long.
