Nokia N73 To Music Edition Problem

20 replies · 7,343 views · Started 01 February 2007

I have my Nokia N73 and i have entered a product code into the Nokia website and downloaded the so called Music Edition firmware for my N73.

I used nokia software updater (NSU) but it said it upgraded but it stayed with the same old firmware.

I was wondering what do you have to do to change a standard T-mobile N73 to the music edition.

Please advise me on how to change it. :icon14:

Make sure you got a decent, stable connection to the internet when you do the upgrade, and also dont unplug your phone from the computer when its all happening to avoid problems.

^ oh right
So it should work by following these steps.
Is there anything else i would have to know before i attempt this?
Thanks tho..

Dont think so, i did it based on knowing just what ive said, worked a treat...

Just make sure you back up you phone to its memory card before you begin as updating the firmware will wipe the phone clean.

Matt. C i would like to thanks you for converting my N73 to the music edition in too seconds, i also put the latest firmware on it... thanks alot.. much appreciated!

Thanks Kaz

have flashed phone with code given above, when trying to upgrade with nsu and it says latest software already installed, any ideas how to get music edition firmware on phone?

cheers:con?

Hi, I have a T-mobile N73. I have changed the code to 0537289 with NSS. When I try to upgrade the firmware to ME with NSU it says no updates availalbe, internal module error.
My firmware at the moment is v3.0638.0.0.1 30-10-2006 RM-133 Nokia N73 (92.02)

Any help.

^ i had a T-mobile phone aswell..
What you do, is you change product code of your phone with NSS,
But then add a fake product code into the nokia website and download the music edition firmware and use that to update ur phone with Nokia Software Updater.
Use a product code from the sticky thread called product codes

Thanks for your reply. I can change the phone code with NSS ok, but I don't know what you mean by a fake code with the Nokia updater, can you tell me more please.
Thanks.

If your N73 product code has been changed to 0537289, then NSU will show that there is an update to a new ME firmware, V 3.0705.1.0.31.

Just connect your phone via USB, run NSU and it will do this for you automatically.

Hi, thanks i've managed to change it to the ME. A couple of questions, can you not close the media player in this version & is there any where to get free album art covers to display.
Ta.

Music Player stays on by default. You cannot turn it off. It's no worry as it occupies about 8.5K of memory.

As for album art, search Google images for whatever you need. I have responded to your other post with details on how to add them.

My N73 Shows

V2.0628.0.0.1
