N73 problem - blue tinted screen?

I've just received a brand new N73, and I've found a problem that I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on :con?

As soon as I activate the camera (indoors), the screen develops a strange blue tint / hue. When I take, and view a photo, the image does not show any of this previous 'blueness', each picture looks as it should. It only appears on the screen when the camera is active (before, or after taking photos).

I have put the N73 up against my old N70, and the difference is huge, the N70 screen looks perfectly normal in camera mode, whilst the N73 looks like it's viewing the image through a pair of swimming goggles! There doesn't appear to be a lack of sharpness, it's just very blue! Also it does not appear to be patchy, more like a blue filter used on a traditional camera.

Has anyone else experienced this, and is there any way of sorting it out? It's a pretty major fault in my eyes, and completely detracts from what would otherwise be a decent camera. Please help!!

it happens in artificial lightings..... dunno why... but mine is also behaving the same way.... but i don't bother since the pic after taking is good.... :icon14:

So is it just something that everyone puts up with? I haven't seen that many threads mentioning it which made me wonder if it only affected some models. It seems strange that Nokia would bother creating a good camera only to allow a flaw like this to occur.

So has anyone else experienced, or better still, managed to fix this problem?:con?

i'm having this problem also when i just bought, but after update to new firmware, no more blue tint.. 😊

I'm on the latest ME firmware, and have a similar "problem".

Its down to the imaging app not doing any major post processing at preview time, it only does that when you have actually take the picture. Also, when you take the picture or focus, thats the only point that the assist light comes on, which you tend to need indoors. It comes on once to assist with the focusing, then again (twice? brighter?) to illuminate the subject.

Its not really an issue at all, is it?

i've considered buying a n73, is it worthed? i've only read bad things about it on the forums...what do u say?

You have to mind that this forum is here just to talk about the little problems that every phone has got! The phone is almost perfect, and it's actually a great buy!!

I'm probably going to install the ME firmware at some point so I'll be interested to see if this corrects the problem. Obviously it's not a major issue, it just struck me as being a bit odd. 😎

I've got the latest version of the ME firmware on mine and the screen still has the blue tint to it. The photos are fine after they are taken though, so not issue at all really.

This blue tint is really annoying!
It doesn't affect the picture you make... but it DOES affect a recordered video! It's totally "blued" 😞
