Why can't I do partial backups/restores?

Hello,

I own a 6630 phone and I recently downloaded and installed the latest Nokia PC Suite.

Yesterday I tried to do some backups of my phone, and as I didn't want to backup my MMC card, I selected the setting "include only phone memory in backup". Nevertheless, the Nokia Content Copier insisted on doing a full backup of my phone.

After a firmware upgrade I went for the backup in order to restore my settings, sms, contacts, etc. But for some reason the Content Copier doesn't let me select a partial restore, it insists on doing a full restore.

So I would like to ask two questions:
1) Why does the Content Copier insists on full backup, although I selected "backup only memory"?

2) How can I restore only parts of a backup, considering that the backup has more data than the one I want to restore (for instance how can I restory only contacts and SMS when the backup has a full backup - including the MMC card)?

Best regards.

1) Because Nokia implemented it that way.

2) You can't, if you rely on PC Suite backup/restore or the Memory app backup/restore.

Thank you for your answer.

But why does it make a full backup although I didn't select that option? Are those settings phoney, or is it a bug?

Besides that, I'm having another huge problem: altough I created a full backup, my contacts don't seem to restore. In other words, I lost all my contacts!

Is there a way to check that .NBU file and see if there's any contact information there? Or are my contacts really lost?
