I just got my link to download yahoo go 2, I must say its a pretty slick and nice looking app 😊..
Pity Yahoo messenger isn't integrated though, I would have thought that should be quite an important part of yahoo go ...

Got the link and downloaded it today as well. As you say it looks quite smart but seems to be quite slow. Cant quite work out yet how to change the sign in as it seems to automatically sign you in with the same ID everytime. Any idea how you change ID's I have tried settings but nothing doing. Could try the master reset but surely there should be a way of changing ID's without resetting everthing.

yea..its definitely a little slow, after using it for a while now...will have a look at the sign in ..
Have also just noticed it does not release the Wlan connection unless you go to active connections and manually disconnect it. Unless I have something set up wrong although I dont think so as the earlier version of Yahoo Go connects and disconnects fine.
Till now there is no software for Yahoo Messenger... 😞

the old version of yahoo go had messenger that worked on my N80.

you are correct again...I think I may try go back to the old yahoo go ..... if I can untill these probs are sorted.

I didnt take the old version off so still have both icons available. I am not sure now which one is which but I think the java one (version 1.01(16)) is the new beta version and the sis one (version 1.50(18)) is the old one. Will try and locate it on my computer (to many folders and files - must try and have a clear out ) and post it if you cannot locate. I think until the bugs are ironed out I will stick with the old version too. It runs faster and is more user friendly IMO. May be worth posting feedback as it is only a beta version ATM.
Is this a beta version?
i got the app today as well , how do you snyc your calander ??? does it have one ???
Yes its a beta version at the moment. Follow this link if you want to try it http://mobile.yahoo.com/go but my initial view is it needs more work on it before it is worth changing over from the old version. For a start messenger is not incorporated as Cash pointed out and it seems to run a lot slower.
yeah i wasnt sure what version it was but i sent for a sms like 2 weeks ago and recieved a notice saying it was full
Yes I sent my request about two weeks ago and got the first SMS straight back saying it was full. Got the SMS for the download this morning so have been trying it out ever since. Guess you have to wait that long though from first impressions its not worth the wait!!!!!!
Cash
Have found the old version of Yahoo Go. It actually version 1.50(21) but it is too large to attach but can send it to you if you cannot locate it.

It doesn't drop the WLAN connection on mine either.
To say something good about the app - when I downloaded email using the Nokia app in Messaging they were deleted from the BT server so I couldn't get them into Outlook when I got home. But, reading them from Y! Go seems to leave them 'as new'. Hurrah (or, erm, yahoo!)
However, links don't seem to be present in mails read in the Y! app. So... boo.
Yahoo have just sent me an SMS to say I can now download a copy but after reading all this, I think I'll stay with the first version, or at least until the next version comes out. (Did I also read that it doesn't push email anymore?)

I have both the old and the new on my phone, but at the moment prefer the old, the new could have been soooo much better ...
I found when my yahoo was running in the back ground it runs the battery into the ground in very little time.
Taking the time to diconnect it rather than just closing it has restored my N80 battery life back to where it was before, not superb but didnt need charging at least twice a day 😞

Strange, I have YGo! running in the background all the time and it has very little effect on battery life. Yes I need to charge my phone every day, but I needed to do that anyway. It only syncs with Yahoo once every hour, and that is no major draw on the battery, certainly no more than what I was using with a mail client, like Profimail.
Though I suppose it depends on what you use as your access point. If you're set up to use WiFi all the time, then yes, I suppose it would drawdown on the battery. But I sync over GPRS, so no impact for me.

This is probably why i guess, I think most people including myself would use it over wifi, and we all know what happens when we have wifi on all day, well ony half a day actually 😊..
I got Yahoo Messenger to work via 3G already! 😊

It was setup to connect via gprs.
Strange it seems to me knowing it only runs an synchs periodically, but all the same turned off the difference in battery life is remarkable even if i mae a lot more calls in a day 😊
I am not a heavy phone user mind you if i were on the phone for more than 20 mins in a day i would be using it a LOT.
My main usage is on media player mode on the way in and out to work in the morning / night
I work in the same building as the node b is located so its not looking hard for the signal and WLAN is always turned off.
Process of elimination led me to the Y2go being te culprit 😊

Strange indeed, as it has no impact on my phone. It is running all the time on my phone, with no noticable effect. Guess you're unlucky.

yeah man bum deal on that one 😊 100% sure it was the yahoo not anything else
