Can anybody shed any light on this?

I have installed various games and apps on my phone, and some put icons under 'menu' , others require going into tools then apps to start them.

If possible I would like to organise so that games are started from the games folder, apps from the apps folder etc.... is this possible?

I don't really understand the directory structuring of symbian yet (is there any general guidelines or somewhere I could read up on this?)

Cheers
Aaron

All Java apps/games go to that tools -> apps place.
And symbian programs (.sis) go where ever you place those.

No way to change them around? Or make shortcuts or something?

Under the menu -> games I have snake, mix pix and snails - yet in c:\nokia\games I have only a mixpix folder...

Under c:\system\Apps there's mixpix folder again (different contents), snails folder, system explorer folder etc, but no snake folder...

maybe I need to read up on some sdk notes or something to better understand what all these things are for...

Yes, you can make shortcuts to favorites, if you have some program which can do it. There are many apps for that.

Here mixPix saves games that are currently "open" or not finished.
You can delete this folder, MixPix creates it again as soon as you start a new game.

That folder is where the symbian apps/games are installed.
The snake and MixPix are on Z: and cant be removed from phone.
MixPix creates that folder there for your own MixPix pictures.

You dont have to read any SDK notes, just the AAS FAQ. 😃

here's at thought if you want to have all your games in the games folder. why dont you move the entire apps folder (the icon is boxes in differect colors) to the main games folder where you have the stock games snake and mixpix in. just highlight the apps folder, press option and select move to folder. i did that. i think that'll only make sense if all the applications you have in the apps folder are java games.

there, thats a thought. 😃

about adding shortcuts to the favorites folder, TaskMan of Psiloc can do that. the trial will do if all you need to do is add shortcuts. you can get the trial here:

hope that helps you mate! 😃
