Alarm Clock Problem

5 replies · 2,484 views · Started 02 February 2007

Over the last week or so my Orange branded N73's alarm clock has intermittently decided not to work. When it decides not to work, it doesn't play the selected alert tone and hence I wake up late for work! I'm sure someone else here had this problem but I couldn't find the post.

Firmware = Version 3.0638.0.0.1

Any advice would be very gratefully received.

It is "Theme" dependent issue. If you use its original theme, alarm will work OK after even you turn off your phone. With other themes, some will and some won't. If you want to test it. First chose your theme, then set alarm. Next, turn off the phone and then on again. Check your alarm setting (don't trust the bell icon as it may or may not appear), if your setting still there, the theme you have just selected is good. If setting reset to no alarm set, try another theme. This is my best advice.

Hello world!

My n73 has possibly the same problem. When turned off it almost never rings. If left on it works fine. I usually put it in Offline profile to save battery then.

Instead of ringing it just shows the battery indicator in the upper corner, as though it had been connected to a charger. None of the themes has solved this and I have yet to see any pattern to when it doesn't work.

I have the same firmware = Version 3.0638.0.0.1. No newer are available fpr my swedish model according to the software updater.

I had the same problem before.. My solution is not with the theme, but with the Phone Settings...

Settings > Phone > General > Phone Language

This should always be set as "Automatic"

Try if it works for you and lemme know..

Thanks for the tip; this is a good work around. Mine has exactly the same issue where the screen lights and the battery indicator shows in the upper corner. It only lets me down when I absolutely have to get up when the alarm goes off... how does it know 😊

Thanks for the other suggestion guys re the themes; I'll give it a try.
