I used pheonix to go from n80ie firmware back to generic .41 then used nsu to put back three's branded firmware back on my phone and everything works just fine. Why is it people say this is not possible when it worked just fine for me?
Going from a higher firmware version to a lower one does not brick phone!

Possible that nobody really tried to do it, I cant see why anybody would want to go back unless they want to return their phone for a warranty repair, so I guess its a good thing to know ..
cheers 😊
maybe its ok to go back when changing product code. cant think why, just a thought.
I've done it a few times, though mostly because I had no clue it wasn't *supposed* to be possible until reading various forums in a little more depth.
I've downgraded mostly by only a few point releases though, nothing as major as going from v4 to v3.
I can't imagine why it wouldn't be possible using the dead phone business in Phoenix anyway.
