Hi Everyone.
Please can someone help me with idiot proof instructions of how to set up a WLAN access point for an E61. It is connected to a Vodafone (UK) network and they may have messed about with the programme?
I can connect to my home WLAN but have to enter the password each time!

WLAN access point for E61 (Vodafone)
Hey Nick, this is in fact a very good question, and takes a bit of poking around as it is poorly labelled in the menu system.
When you are in Tools > settings > connection > Access Points, open up the wireless LAN point you are interested in and enter under WLAN security mode the WEP or WPA relevant to your network. NOW, key bit...
click on the option below that, WLAN security settings! Choose top option, WPA mode pre-shared key then on the Pre shared key box, you have to type in the key. After that, it should remember the option. Really cool!
I didnt know how to do this and perhaps should have looked in the PDF manual for the phone, but one never has when one is in a coffee shop and always think it is jsut a crap feature of the phone that you have to re-type the password. But you don't 😉
Hope that helps!!!
Hi, thanks for this.
I suspect Vodafone have been at the menu system -and perhaps more crucially the software within it! In sequence I get:
Menu>Settings>connection>Access Points then comes the problem, there is no wireless LAN point!
So, I go Options>New access point> here I get an option of "use default settings" or "use existing settings" then nothing seems to make sense! I get asked for user names and passwords which have no relevance (to me anyway)
