Hi,
I just bought an N80 and already have a problem with it. My phone didnt show me the right time, so i manually changed the time in the phone settings. At this point, the auto-update is off and when I tried turning the auto-update on, it shows me a time that is 15 hours behind the actual time. I tried restoring the factory settings and changing the timezone, nothing worked. I put the sim into my older phone, and the time in that phone was correct. I put the sim back into the n80, and the time is 15 hours behind unless i manually change it. The service provider is Rogers. I am in Ottawa, Canada.
I hope someone has a solution to my problem...i know its a little thing, but having paid soo much money i just want everything to be workin fine...atleast for a few months...:icon14:
Thanks in advance.
Do you mean when you select the network time and the time appears 15 hours back? It should be the time of the network headquaters time so it could be off.
The network time should be the time of the part of the network where you are connected. If your network gives you the wrong time, call their customer service and ask them fix it (configure their network properly, or turn off the service entirely, if they can't do it right).
I have a similar problem. I have a run down of my emails to and response from Nokia Support:
From Me Recently I got a N80. While setting it up, I noticed I was unable to select my city in the clock. Is there any way of selecting Darwin which is GMT + 9.5 h? If not, is there any third party or genuine / licenced software that you can provide that will allow me to select this city, or at very worst, time zone?
I have tried to update the firm ware but I already had the latest one.
From NOKIA Thank you for emailing Nokia Careline.
In response to your enquiry, please be advised that you can only add cities from the list provided under "World Clock" application. Unfortunately, there are no options or softwares that will allow you to add more cities to the default list. 😡 If "Darwin" is not listed, then this city is considered redundant on the phone.😡

Haven't actually complained yet but seriously considering it.
ok , its might be something simple like turning off automatic time update , that way its stays on whatever time u set it to.
If the network would had the wrong time, then every one on your network with automatic update would have the wrong time as well.
