n73 answerphone message

hi i saved an answerphone message and two days later deleted it but when i switch the phone on it says new message when i press listen it says no messages but the saved logo is still there i just cant get rid of it any ideas

This has now happened to me. Im on Orange. When i turn off and on again it says 'New Voice Message on Line 1' but when i press 'Listen' it tells me i have no messages. Ive also noticed that on the VM 'tape' symbol, which is now constantly positioned in the top right corner of the screen, the left side 'spool' is black whereas when i actually have a VM both 'spools' are clear.

Any ideas how to get rid of this random problem?

I had the same problem with orange and after a few weeks of their technical dept trying to sort it out - they just replaced the sim card and it fixed it just fine. Best to ring them and askk for replacement sim.

I had this too.....

To solve the problem, i put my simcard into my old samsung d600, called voicemail, then put the sim card back in my N73...and there you go, icon gone!!
