N80ie and Voipcheap Settings

Is anyone out there using their N80ie with Voipcheap?

I have set up my phone using the following settings:

--Profile name: Voipcheap
--Service Profile: IETF
--Default Access point: *Your_access_point_identifier*
--Public user name: sip:*Your_Voipcheap_UserName* at voipcheap dot com
--Use compression: No
--Registration: When needed
--Use security: No

--Proxy server
--Proxy server address: *leave empty*
--Realm: *leave empty*
--User name: *leave empty*
--Password: *leave empty*
--Allow loose routing: Yes
--Transport Type: UDP
--Port:5060

--Registrar Server
--Registrat serv. addr.: sip:sip dot voipcheap dot com
--Realm: voipcheap.com
--User name: * your voipcheap name*
--Password: *your voipcheap password*
--Transport Type: UDP
--Port:5060

My handset manages to register with Voipcheap, and indeed I can receive calls no problem. But no matter what I attempt to dial through Voipcheap, I get a "connection error" message displayed on the handset.

Any ideas where I've gone wrong?

I do have Truphone up and running and that works 100%.

Obviously I have disabled, even uninstalled Truphone when trying Voipcheap and still the same result.

Many thanks

Henry

PS I have had to instert dots and spaces on the settings above to be able to make this post!

I have
Tranport Type (on the proxy server): Automatic

And all the fields regarding the proxy server are empty like yours..
The only real diference is the Transport Type on the Proxy server settings..
And it works fine with outgoing calls.. (hadn't receveid any calls, but the outgoing calls are perfect..)

Thanks for the replies.

I have tried replicating the details to enter on the Proxy settings... still no joy.

I have also tried auto for the transport settings and also just TCP.. no change.

I also have another account with internetcalls dot come.. which is from the same group of companies as voipcheap..The problem is still there..

I am beginning to wonder if it could be that I have a slight glitch on my firmware. I guess reinstalling it will be the next stage.

Thanks for your suggestions

Henry

heres a link to someone who got it working on voipbuster (which is the same company). i dont think they actually said how they got it working but at leat it will give you the knowledge that it is possible to motivate you to keap trying.

OK.. I finally figured it out.

I had the correct settings to begin with, as per my first post. But I also had the caller id settings for internet calls as OFF. It would appear it has to be on, so that your CLI is transmitted. If it's off you get a connection error.

A big thank you to all those who helped.

this evening Ive upgraded to n80i and truphone havent texted me back yet, so i set up my old voipcheap (.co.uk in my case) account to work using the above (but with .co.uk), it worked first time amazingly clear! time will tell how good it really is, and I'm off to the states soon so that will be the real test!

I tried everything but I couldn't register with lowratevoip nor internetcalls.
Could you guys explain me. I have N95

Hello,

as you mentioned your problem in your first post, I had the same problem and i tried evrything as well as you. I also searched dozen of websits about that issue then finaly i found your post. i never imagined that problem could be sovled by internet caller ID.

Anyway i just wanted to thank you for your usefull post. and thanks to everyone.
