Best MP3 for 9300?

5 replies · 1,916 views · Started 09 February 2007

Since i have a good amount of space on my 9300, and an accessory port on my head unit in my car....................you can do the math 😊

The only problem is which program to use? I am trying the demo of UltraMP3, and have seen XSound, but I can't seem to find any more. Is that all there is?

I'd like one that can use Windows playlists, or at least create it's own.

Any suggestions?

Josh

I use the builtin music player. Once you've installed Oggplay and the mp4 codecs, you can listen to anything with it.

My only beef with the built in program is that it seems to only find files in a single folder at a time. I'd prefer one that made it eaiser to play everything at once.

Having just bought a 2gb memory card, I was in the same position.
I tried all the players I could find (built in, viking, ultra MP3, oggplay and some others I found).
For me, the best one was oggplay. I had issues with the latest version (1.70) but 1.69 worked flawlessly.
Reason I chose it? It is free! It supports files over multiple directories, it supports playlists, its skinnable and - most important for me, it is the ONLY player that continued to work when TomTom was launched. viking just stopped and Ultra MP3 slowed down to a complete stutter. Oggplay just continued playing my music. That (and the price) was important to me as it means I can plug my 9300i into the AUX jack on my car stereo, use TomTom for guidance and listen to music all at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike, I'll take a look at it.

Edit:
I just got OggPlay, and it runs great and has everything I want, plus theprice is right!

Thanks for the advice!
