You may remember a news post a week or so ago about Nokia integrating their 'Search' tool (which accessed online databases like Yahoo) and their 'Search' tool (which lets you search for any text content on your device)? Yes, the names were confusing everyone and they were supposedly combined. Except noone told their web team and it hasn't been available. But it is now. Recommended for all.

Local Search can find allmost everything in my device which is really nice. The one annoying thing is that it finds absolutely NOTHING from my Mail for Exchange inbox. Could someone forward this request to their contacts in Nokia?!
Is it a same thing with other push-email systems (Blackberry, Roadsync...) integrated to phone's messages application?
=)juha
ok so i down loaded it for my e61. and installed it. and then tried it. when the app first runs it stops to ask if you want to use a network connection. it will ask this every time you start it. very annoying! then it asks if you want to use yahoo or windows live. both crap search engine choices. then it defaults to a menu of search types i chose the yahoo engine and the last option on the list is the local search. so i select this and then ask it to do a simple search. except it doesn't. not when i press the left soft button labeled search. or press enter, or press the joystick. uh does it actually work?
either way you have to wait for the program to load (it's a lot slower to load than the version that was only a global search and not an online search). select the connection option. then select the search and then have a search, except it doesn't.
very slow and clunky compared to the version that i already downloaded that only does local search. i'll stick with that version thanks.
it's probably because the vodafone e61 hasn't had a firmware update yet but very annoying!
Hi all,
Maybe it's just me but i really fail to see the point of this, the Mobile search app was available ages ago and after installing it i removed it even quicker as i hated it and if i need to search the web i am quite able to launch the web browser and choose a search engine. The local search app i also found quite some time and this IMO really is great app for searching your whole device quickly and either the whole device or just where you want this has been on my device for ages now and will stay there as i think it's great. Sometimes convergence works and sometimes it doesn't IMO this is one of the times it is a step backwards but obviously just MO.
