Just got a new wirless router today, and I can't get my N93 to connect to it..
I set it up on the phone (as described here: nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_N93-1_WLAN_UPnP_Support_Guide.pdf) But when I go into services, to try and go online, it fails..
The interesting apart is that it doesn't ask me to enter the password anywhere during the set-up. I even looked under "WLAN Settings", but there doesn't seem to be any field in which I can type the passworrd in.
Any Ideas ?
Regards,
OGLES
I have my router set up to be open and then set up a wireless MAC filter so it only accepts addresses you put in. Then just enter your PC MAC address and then the one for the phone. I don't have a password for my router (apart from the settings menu) so I can't help you if you want to do it that way
Hmm, Is it possible you could give a little guide step-by-step guide on the process to do this ?
My n93's WIFI worked fine for about 2 weeks... until it suddenly stopped working. After several reboots and reformats, I've given up. I've yet to flash my firmware though... maybe that would help.
During the first 2 weeks though, internet worked fantastic! And the browser is definitely best on market. Here's how i got it to work on mine:
1. Router Settings: Mac Filtering enabled, WEP enabled
2. Add the MAC address of your n93 to the router in the router settings (you can do that through your computer, usually by typing in 192.168.1.1)
3. Add a new Access Point: Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access Points. Select "Wireless LAN" under 'Data Bearer'. Under 'WLAN security mode' I entered the WEP encryption KEY i set for my router. Also make sure you have the WLAN network name defined, if the n93 doesn't auto detect.
4. Finish entering appropriate settings (i dont remember of any other major setting changes) and connect!
5. The WLAN should show up in the home screen. And you should be able to connect.
If the WLAN doesn't even show up on your phone, you have a entirely different problem (such as mine - hopefully not hardware related!)
Hope that helps. 😎
i havent yet had any problems with my n93, my router already came with a wpk key on it which was provided so i didnt have to figit with it
