Hi there! The guy i brought my n80 off got the unlock code today, but every time i enter it I'm getting a code error!

Can I just confirm that this is the correct process:

1. Press # (pound)
2. Press * (star) three times = P
3. Press * (star) four times = W
4. Press * (star) twice = +
5. enter code 😎
6. Press * (star) twice = +
7. Press 1 (one) = 1
8. Press # (pound), phone should display "SIM Restriction Off"

And should I be doing this without a SIM card in the phone, or should I put my O2 sim card in there?

Many thanks!

I thought u had to start the phone with a different network sim in the there and when it fails to start you should be able to enter the code.

Could someone confirm this?

Keep in mind if you put in a wrong code too many times, your device will become more permanantly locked...

i just formatted the mobile without the sim card in
and I got my orange N80 unlocked so that i could use any ORANGE SIM cards

I have a N80 with 3 wrong tries to enter unlock code. But i have valid code - how can i enter the code using cable I am on contract in the UK, I have the unlocking code from Vodafone which they gave me for free and have entered it and it stated 'sim restriction off' which I assumed meant I was unlocked...
