Install Holux 240 driver to my Nokia N73

[SIZE="3"]I have paired my n73 Music Edition and Holux GPSlim 240 receiver, however, I have tried numerous of times to download the holux driver onto my memory card, but it gets stored into File Manager, which you can't open the file. I have installed my TOM TOM 6 software which is running, but can't find a signal from my receiver.

I would love to hear of any advice as I'm getting to a point of pulling out my hair (matter of speaking).

Thanks

I dont think you need to install any drivers to your phone. I dont know how
installing drivers will change anything as your phone bluetooth already has
the necessary protocol to communicate with the GPS receiver provided that it's
a compatible bluetooth GPS receiver?

If its a bluetooth receiver....

the way to configure holux GPS receiver.....

1) Turn ON the GPS receiver and make sure its fully charged.....

2) Launch tomtom in your phone......after the programme completely loaded.....

3) From tomtom menu.......Select Change Preferences....

4) Scroll to find .....Show GPS Status and select

5) Once you on there.....Select Configure.....

6) Scroll and Select Other Bluetooth GPS Receiver

7) It should automatically detect your bluetooth gps receiver and then pair it.

Let me know if this was any help? 😊

Hi Atomic_Guy,

Thank you for the reply. I have done that before placing the query, after placing with the TOM TOM software for the last 3 hours, but all I get is waiting for a valid GPS signal.

Thanks

So I take it GPS reciever was paired and now waiting for a valid GPS signal?

Place your GPS receiver more towards open space or open sky.
The GPS receiver will lock onto the satellites if it can detect them.

Give it a while for the GPS receiver to joggle about its positions.

You do not need to install any drivers to the phone.

Turn the GPS Receiver on, go to Bluetooth settings on the N73, select New Paired Device, select the GPS device from the resulting list, enter a passcode if requested (the code will be in the instructions of the GPS device) then once paired, set the GPS device as Authorised.

Now got to the GPS settings of TomTom, select "Other Bluetooth Device". When it finds the GPS device you have, select it.

GPS receivers need a reasonably clear sight of sky and will always take a couple of minutes max to acquire a signal from a cold start.

But you DO NOT need to install any drivers to the phone !!!

Just to add one note on that......

the pass code is 0000 incase fellow comrade was unaware.

😊

I had to go walk down the road, to see whether the receiver would worked as outside my house had no signal. It works beautifully!! Thank you all for your help and advice!!:icon14:
