What kind of "protection" do you use for your phone? I have a screen protector on my screen and camera lens. I also keep my phone in a little pouch to keep the body from getting scratched. I find the screen protector to be pretty good but it produces this rainbow colored glare when you look at it from an angle.

I stumbled across this earlier today: http://www.shieldzone.com/item_description/NOKN80FB.html

Their demonstration video is pretty impressive. Does anyone use one of these things to protect their N80? If it really works as well as it claims, I can just get one of these bad boys and ditch the pouch I use.

Looks good but the price is high!

Well, I just bit the bullet and should be getting one in a week. I'll post my review as soon as I get it.

I paid 4 inc delivery for a case just like that one.

search for 'N80 crystal case' on ebay 😉

That shieldzone cover is way to pricey -

just get a crystal case - i've got one and it works very well - dropped it many times and it's still fine 😊

I have one of the crystal cases, and while it works well, I don't like the extra bulk it adds to an already slightly chubby phone, it scratches so easily and seems to want to consume all my pocket fluff into it's body to deposit on the screen just as I'm about to Orb stream Lost to my bath. I'm actually really tempted by the invisibleshield, it has some great reviews and adds nothing to the mass of the phone - my only fear is that I'm such a cack-handed gimp that I'd completely mess up the application and end up with a scrunched up mess of plastic film.

The crystal case looks nice, but like BHLC said, I don't want anything that will make my N80 any bigger. The Invisible Shield not only protects the N80, it also protects itself by being scratch resistant.

BHLC, have you checked out the video demonstration they have on how to put the Invisible Shield on? It looks pretty easy, much easier than other screen protecting solutions I have used.

Hi ginni07, first of all this is a N80 forum, and second of all we're talking about casing/protection for our phones, not font size.

Try asking your question at at the Nokia 6630, 6680, 6681 and 6682 forum, you'll probably get more answers there.

Indeed - I watched the demostration of the Ipod application. It looks reasonable, but I am such a fat fingered gimpazoid that I think I will struggle. The N80 has a lot more lumps and bumps and bits than the reasonably flat ipod. Let me know how you get on, if you find it easy enough, I'd be tempted to purchase it.

I used the clear hard casing whilst doing a load of building work... its did really well at protecting my phone, although it did let dust in at some points.

The problem I had came when I took the casing off, it had rubbed on the silver casing of the N80 and marked it in little areas... not a big issue really, but it did put marks on my steel casing I couldnt get rid of. :icon13:

cheap crystal clear from ebay as well for me. Works great other than every once in a while you just have to pull it off to clean the dust.

Sure will.

Got the InvisibleShield last Thursday, I immediately put it on, left it on for two days, and I took it off on the third day.

Application of the shield itself was a pain in the @$$. It took me about 45 minutes to put everything on. The curvy contour of the N80 makes it difficult to apply the shield with everything alligned. The liquid solution that came with it was not nearly enough, but then I realized that using water worked just as well.

Now I wouldn't have minded the difficult application process if the product worked well. But unlike the IPod shield where it's just one piece, it takes a total of 11 pieces to cover the N80. The edges between the different pieces of the shield would attract lint/dust and all kinds of stuff. What surprised me was that the shield does NOT cover the primary camera lens nor the secondary camera lens. In my opinion, those should be the parts that need the most protection!

On the upside, the InvisibleShield does do what was advertised and it's pretty rugged. The material seemed pretty strong and scratch resistent. I would recommend the LCD only shield that they have for the N80, but I would stay away from the "full body shield" because of all the negatives stated above. I only left the LCD portion of the shield intact, and I took off all the other "shields" which were more of an annoyance. Guess I'll stick with using my phone pouch.

Cheers for that KiN, I was wondering about the fiddle value. As I stated, I have about as much grace as a blind epileptic tight-rope walker having a heart attack, so glad I waited to see how someone with normal muscle control got on!
