Bricked Phone not the end....

Hi There

I thought I should just post this.

I was updating my phone's firmware (N73) to the latest version and, like a clutz, managed to pull out the connectivity cable half way through....DOH!

This meant the phone didn't work at all and NSU kept on trying to "Recover Phone" but nothing happened. So, I was there crapping my pants that I had to spend 300 on a new phone, and whilst I started hunting round for a cheap phone on the internet, I just kept on running NSU and it kept on trying to Recover the Phone, but always seemed to get stuck on the same place.

However, I kept at it, probably did it about fifteen times (removing battery and power lead and putting them back in and turning on when it said and hitting retry) and also kept on trying different ways (i.e. not turning it on after putting battery in, pressing and holding power button for 5-10 seconds after putting it it). However, still, no luck, it still kept on retrying.

Then...

Suddenly....

Rather than the progress bar jumping straight to about 75% complete (which was when I pulled the plug out) it started at 0% again.

Then...

Ten minutes or so later, up came a message that the software update was complete, and what do you know. My phone bloody works again!!!!

WOHOOO!!!! No more 300 paper weight and no more having to buy a new phone.

So, for all those people out there that are as dumb as me and manage to kill their phone, just keep on trying and trying to Recover the Phone. Maybe I was lucky, but it worked for me....
