Improvised Infrared

Hey peeps!!

<nervous> my first topic...hope i get good replies 😃 😃 </nervous>

anyways....i want to try a crazy experiment....

i have a 6210 and as we all know it has an infrared port and it can transfer data via a datacable.

what i want to find out is, do you think there could be a way to use the combination of the datacable and the infrared of the handset as an improvised infrared device for comunication with other devices (7650)?!

afterall, one uses this phone as a modem which in turn tranfers large amounts of data to and fro. the hnaset does not have to store any data, it just has to act as a gateway for data transfer.

there really could be a possibility here, maybe a software can be written for this purpose, cos' really i think the IR capabilities of these phones are underworked.

so what do you guys think? what are your own insights?

If patch thru the Command pathways to the googlb'doogle and the... I think we could just do it sir, its a long shot but our only hope! Hmmm Been watching to much Startrek and Stargate! :P 😃 😃 I dont thik its possible - Ive been trying it thru my 7110 as a mini projectm as of yet with no success... If u really wanna save the cash then buy a cheap IR mouse [aprox 5, $8 etc...] and use the receiver as an iR port... Its easily dooable... If not I advise a bluetooth accessery
