When I try to connect to Nokia Maploader the application tells me there is no phone present, even though the phone IS connected and perfectly visible via PC Suite. Any ideas?

Are you using the data storage / mass storage mode of transfer - it doesn't work if you are in pc suite mode
Yeah thanks, I figured it out, except that the maploader app frequently crashes at mid-download. Seems quite buggy, I guess that's why they call them "betas"!
I haven't had the oppurtunity to test the maploader as I cannae afford a memory card 😞 Anyone who has installed a full map - what do you get for it? map? full route calculation?
I have to say I'm loving the software so far - small touches like moving road names, it even guesses/knows door numbers which is a little creepy. I haven't used any nav software before so this might be old-hat but I'm still pretty impressed.
