Hi - sorry if this has been covered elsewhere - I've searched the forums but failed to find this problem.
I have Nokia PC Suite installed (I use it with a 9300i). When I'm using the PC, without the 9300i connected, a window keeps popping up, headed "Connect Nokia 9300i USB Modem (OTA)". It appears in the background and the first I know of it is when my browser (and maybe other programs) slow to a crawl. When I switch to the dialogue and cancel, my browser is off and running again.
I can't find a setting that will turn this thing off. Can anyone help?
TIA
Chris
How about uninstalling Nokia USB modem if u do not use it (do you)? I can imagine that the PC searches for the device and tries to connect thru N9300 to the internet. That may slow the PC damn a lot.
... Nokia USB modem doesn't appear in the PC's list of intalled prgrams (in the Add/Remove Programs dialogue).
Does it appear in Control Panel and/or Control Panel-> Hardware? I guess it might be "hidden" there and I would try to uninstall it from there as a part of the PC hardware. IMHO it is recognized like any other internal or peripheral device - AFAIK this how a Windoze PC has always handled Nokia "virtual" modems.
Or - just an idea - if u have a Nokia modem network connection set up, try to disable or delete this type of connection.

This might be it - I've just gone into Network Connections, and found the 9300i listed under Dial-up. I've deleted it, since I don't need dial-up connection at home.
Time will tell...
Thanks, mp3comanche!
