Is it possible to view message log and get birthdays on the calender?

Hi.
This is my first post and I have only ahd my N73 for 2 days now and I have having some issues with certain things, as the title suggests.
Just for reference I am using,
Ver 3.0638.0.0.1 (30-10-2006)
RM-133
Nokia N73(39.01)
Could someone explain what these mean, apart from version number and date it was released. Thanks.

First of all, is there somewhere on the phone where I can keep a log of how many txts I have sent. I have had a look around and cant find anything, I would have thought the obvious place for it to sit was in Applications - Log. But no luck, all I have in there is call timers (which is handy), packet data counters, and a whole list of events that have happened such as dialled numbers, missed calls, txts sent, txts recieved. But there is not an option to view how many txts I have sent! Has anyone had this problem and know where and if I can get such a counter.

Secondly, birthdays on the calender. I have seen some other threads about this but I still dont understand why and what is going on about it. Is there an option hiding away anywhere?

Overall, my first impression of the phone is Nokia have made a good phone and focused on the 'New' technology and tried to cram as much in as possible but they have seemed to have forgotton about some of small the tasks that people use. God damn Nokia (I take that back if I am shown a way of getting a counter and birthdays on my calender! lol).

Thanks

Hi Dan

Don't know about the message counter, but hopefully one of the clued up members will be able to help with that. But re the calendar, is the anniversary feature not the same as a birthday? afterall it is the anniversary of the day someone was born 😊 and you can set an alarm, times and dated so that you get a warning in enough time to post a card etc?

That's how I use it anyway.

If you want recurring events, so that you don't have to enter all your birthdays every year the way I do it is to use outlook, set the dates as recurring events and then sync with the phone. Works for me 😊

I have upgraded from a 6230, so I was using pretty old software, so all this is new to me. But with the calender on that, you had the option to enter the DOB so every year it would say the date of the birthday, and put the age there as well, so it increases every year. This is what I was looking at solving by asking about the N73 calender. Any clues?

No sorry :frown:

I can't even work out how to launch my tomtom 😃

But i'll watch this thread and hopefully learn along with you
