Greetings all,
Does anyone know how I can remove/uninstall flash player from my phone?
The pre-install plash player is old but I've installed flash player lite 2.1 from
Adobe website. But the flash player came with the phone pre-installed I cant
seems to find away to remove it or uninstall it from the phone.
Any help?
You can't uninstall it, if it is preinstalled in ROM (Read-Only Memory).
There must be away to remove pre-installed application from the phone.
Not if it's an embedded application.

oh man! thats pants!
But what about application manager listing "search-localplugins"
What are these for and any one of it is to do with pre-installed application that can be removed?
They are part of the Search application. They are location specific components of the Search app. Remove them at your own risk.

I dont intend to remove any application I'm not sure of 😊
Does anyone know what "search-localplugins" actually associated with?
I mean what sort of applications or services with in the Nokia OS?
Like I said, they are associated with the application called "Search" !! 🙄
And a local plugin for "ES" handles, for example, Spanish directory services. A local plugin for "UK" would do it for the United Kingdom, etc.
Latest version of the Mobile Search app is on (newest version also searches in Contacts, Messages, Calendar, etc.):

Aha that's more interesting. So does that mean if I live in the UK I can get rid of
Spanish stuff? I mean "Search localplugins es"?
I live in the UK and I want to twick my phone so that I dont have any
unnecessary stuff running in the background and clogging up the RAM and phone memory.
What I was hoping that someone can list all the applications or services
running in the background for instance "services localplugins" and what each
ones controls or associated with what applications on the phone.
If I give an example, on Windows XP you have list of services and each
services control particular applications or hardware. These services can be
either disabled or enabled. I have disabled few that I do not see any need for
it to be ruining in the background. That practice freed up the memory and
speed up my pc.
So any ideas with Symbian software?

Right! I went a long and removed "Service Local-plugins" for the respective countries apart from the UK. I haven't removed any other services.
It freed up bit of phone memory but not significant as these files were small.
not sure if it made any difference on the RAM, cant see much change there.
The phone seems to be running okay. So there you go. Anything else I can twick about? let me know 😊
ACK!!
The preinstalled applications don't take up any memory!! Just ROM space, which is unchangeable by the phone software anyway.
Why would you want to remove them?
Search does but that's installed the User space ("C:\"😉 when you first boot the phone. Now that you've removed the components, you've saved no space and won't be able to display text properly from different regions.
Shout over.
well dude...I dont think I'll be installing application in foreign language. My phone
language is in English and I dont think I'll be changing it for another language.
I;ve seen people post lot of comments about Application manager and search
localplugins but no one actually tried removing it from the phone so I just thought
I try it out. But I dont think anyone should just randomly remove stuff from the
phone unless they know what they doing.
For all I care, any junk I dont need I like to clear out! 😊
