Can anybody tell me why i can go to bed and my N73 shows the battery as fully charged and then eight or so hours later it's on one bar? how can that happen?
I'm sure my phone screen lights up during the night.
I guess it's something to do with the light sensor and sleep mode, but i can't work out what makes phone last longer.
Also yes i do take my phone to bed as i use it as an alarm
Cheers:banghead:
if u switch off the phone it will activate itself and switch on when its alarm time
How about this....try plugging it into the charger !
Wild and crazy idea, I know, but what the heck, live dangerously !! 🙄
Ha ha ha Plugging it in .. you are soooooo funny ...( muppet ) .. Mine has also started to Run flat .. before it lasted 4 days on one charge ..now .. one day ... I have seen a few threads re flat batteries... is this some sort of " bug" that Nokia has... after 2 months the Battery dies..... go out by new battery and all fine... or as my phone is doing powering off every so often by itself .... so I dont think it's battery error.. the phones dying... which after 2 months is not soo good.. it's off to a Service centre this weekend .. lets see what they say .....
Ok, smart ass, my N73 battery has performed impeccably since purchase and can go 3-4 days with average call usage before going flat. Only when I use TomTom for lengthy periods does it require a daily charge. I have owned this phone for 6 months.
Did you follow the instructions when you first bought the phone and did you give it a full14-16 hours charge without use ? If so, my first port of call would've been the place I bought it from where they would be obliged to replace the faulty battery, gratis.
And why leave your phone on overnight ? Turn the fecker off, plug in the charger and the alarm will still go off.
im having the same problem now sometimes its fully charge before i go to sleep then when i wake the battery is dead. sooooooooo annoying. I had to leave it charging over the night now so i wont miss any calls and texts in the morning. I think it started when i upgraded to V 3.0705.1.0.31.
Turn your Bluetooth off Guys, its constantly searching for devices if you leave it active
Tips for saving batteries i think..
Turn Bluetooth off..
Turn music off, i know music player is on by defualt but dont have the music playing over night..
Lock the phone..
It should not die out like that, i listen to music sometimes and if i fall asleep my battery is still got loads left in the morning with the music playing. This is a waste so i now just listen to my iPod. However just turn it off i think it should be ok.
Also i believe if you leave your N73 on the charger when it does not need it, the battery will slowly lose its full charge.. this happend to my old D600 as i always left it on at night on the charge. I also think this is stated in the manual..
Anywayz good luck..
not sure if this is relevant , but I have noticed that the new style charger that ships with nokia's (the one with the REALLY small pin) dosent charge my phone properly.
At work I still use an old style charger (BIG pin) with the little adapter fitted to charge my N73. it takes about an hour longer to charge but I have noticed I get a much longer battery life.
basically:
old charger I get 3 days between charges,
new charger I get 2 days between charges (if Im lucky)
Let me know if anyone else has noticed this.
Does setting the alarm tone to a non-standard audio (especially .wav files) cause the battery to go flat over night? I'm sure I read something about this somewhere..
My N73 was going fine, only needed charging every 3 days or so; I put a .wav alarm tone on for the next morning and the battery was nearly totally dead in one night (the phone was switch off over night too)!
I can confirm, that I put the alarm tone back to one of the standard ones and the battery is lasting fine again...
