Sluggish N80 (smartphones) — Nokia N80 — All About Symbian Forum Archive

Was experiencing my N80 being very slow and sluggish since quite some time.
Just yesterday thought of making changes in the installation of softwares.

As you would know, there are 3 memories in N80 and would be true for many smartphones.
1. RAM (43MB in N80)
2. Phone memory (46MB in N80)
3. Media Card (I have 2GB card 😊 )

Media card is slower than the Phone memory .

So I have installed all my softwares in the Phone memory (Initially everything was on Media card) and now Media card is used only for storage of data files, mp3, videos, and Pictures.

Since yesterday...launching applications is a breeze.

Interteresting, have you noticed any increase in your apps' performance? [i.e. SmartMovie]

Dont have SmartMovie...but the 3gp's over Real player are playing rather smooth.
Atleast I'm getting the feeling 😊

Hmm 3GP files have always played smoothly for me though. I could just uninstall and reinstall to test it out, but I'm feeling lazy. :tongue: It would be cool if it could speed up apps like Smart2Go and GoogleMaps.
