P990: Not able to surf internet. Web option does not start

Hi,

I purchased P990 recently and have been trying hard to surf internet on this smartphone. But the problem is when i start the WEB option it says 'not enough memory'. However, my phone does not have anything in its memory or in memory stick. Memory is appx 47 MB free as of now but still it is showing not enough memory. i want to use wi-fi on this smartphone but not able to do so because of this problem.

Well, first of all you should upgrade your firmware. The manual describes how to do that.
Secondly, when you don't use an application anymore, like messaging you should close it with task manager. That way you save memory.

I have the latest firmware now and the only issue with it I had is not working properly when you open/close the flip if some app is running. This should be fixed with new releases. So if you upgrade you should have no problem browsing.

Hi,

You should download this app and install it
I cannot post links so you need to go to sonyericsson.com website then you will need to find the Update Service application.

It will do the rest, just follow the instructions.

I think it should resolve your problem with the web.

I tried one more option of restarting the mobile and opening the Web and it worked (atleast the browser was visible). After this i activated my WLAN and tried connecting to internet. Thankfully, this also went fine but the problem started when i started to surf. It kind of hung up saying 'connecting' for the 2 web pages that i opened. And then the message 'unable to connect to w3.wap.sonyericsson.com/do/....' started appearing up. Not sure what is the problem here.
