Contact names not showing for voice calls

Hi

I have a new E61 which I have downloaded the contacts from outlook. I have checked that the contacts are on the phone memory and appear only once.

Any one able to help?

Regards

Neil

are you referring to numbers in your call log? i have found that more often than not if I reply to a call then add the number to the contacts the call log is not updated with the name, though a restart of the phone sometimes sorts it out.

Sorry to be vauge about this but I cant find a definitive fix for this and it does annoy me.

It is not that the contacts should appear once. The number should only be assigned to one contact. If you assign the number to more than one contact, then only number will show. If not, then the name of the contact should show. It may also be that there is a discrepancy between the number formats of your operator and Outlook/contacts on the phone.

this isnt the case with my e61, i have several contacts that have the same office number and the call log displays the first alphabetical contact that matches.

You will also find that if you have numbers in international format in UK they won't show. If they are in int format they show when abroad. I have mine in both formats and with slightly different names.
