Hey all, I entered "cv" as a new word a week or so back, and with predictive text, whenever I want to type "at", i get "cv" 1st, which is real annoying.
How can i edit my dictionary or change the preference or something?
Thanks!

search the forum instead of bumpin... the solution is there 😊
i did search, but found nothing. a link would be great?
try these:
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/48112/&highlight=edit+dictionary
or
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/47726/&highlight=edit+dictionary
(detailed longer edition)
or
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/54950/&highlight=dictionary
etc etc etc..... try them.
unfortunatly none of them work.
thanks tho.
it seems i can train my phone to use at, but if i start a new message it completely forgets it seems.
so annoying!
erm, it shouldnt... from memory it should pull the most frequently used word for those key presses.
If I type 28 for cv then 28 again I get another cv... if I hit the * I get at.
If I hit 28 and get cv then press the pencil and edit the word I to at, when I next type 28 I get 28 for the current AND any new sms after that.

did you find a solution, none of the examples worked for me either but you can reset the dictionary so it starts blank again, this worked for me, let me know if you still need the fix..
Pete 😉
yeah doesnt work on mine either, it used to but it stopped and then it decided to do a few of its own (nowi get 'tif' not 'the' -most annoying ) but i will be reformating soon when i get round to going n80i 😎
Had the very same problem on mine, was getting 'hmv' instead of 'got.' I reformatted to n80ie and now it reset, i just have to make sure that i won't be going to hmv anymore!
I tried the above methods and none of them worked, and like sm1thsoin said, they used to!
this can be sorted without reformatting and the possibilty of having more problems, let me know if you need the answer still.

Peter, it would be worth putting your solution here for 'future users' searches (if you can) 😉.
Ok, no worries, here you go, this worked a treat for me, i hope it helps 😉
An easy was to reset the dictionary!
Download and install this very cool utility call Sexplorer from http://www.simonjudge.com/sexplorer.html
Install the app via Nokia PC suite to your mobile
Run the app on your phone browse to c:\system\data\predic\
and delete the file named 101F8615_F.dat or very similar (please copy this to your memory card using sexplorer first incase you make a mistake)
thanks peter, i dont actually need it right now as i reflashed my phone last night (to n80i) but Im sure i will need it again sometime, and bigbadn needs it, so thank you.
