Sound volume issue with E61 upgrade v3

Has anyone noticed that the sound in the headset : wired and bluetooth is much quiter then with the older firmware version, or is it just my phone?

no mate its with every nokia phone update because of french government law on
music levels used in cellphones ,ipods etc

So I should understand that one country's legislation affects international company so much to worsen their product?
Can't really believe that. even if that's true than why so, the upgrade is designed for all the countries.

They dont want people to blow their ears out probably.

well if was 'limited' in the phone.-it could also affect the headset.
.i.e. Since the sound is transmitted through bluetooth (wirelessly) ,the max sound/volume of the source point(your phone) will have great impact on what you get at the end (bluetooth headset).
Or you could try an experiment to see if its true:get another device(s) thats compatible with your headset, max out its sound/volume ;and compare the results with your phone's-BT headset conection.

surely though if this is a software implementation is there not a fix for it in the way of a 'registry' hack ??

There will be several articles on the net that'll explain 'why'.
Just Google for the most relevant you need/want.

If it is a software issue and a hack available-1has 2b sure that if it does work ;it doesnt damage/alter any other file in the process.
I'm sure there must be a way to 'fix' it.-since it sounds more of software than hardware.

Of course it's a software because it wasn't like that beofre the upgrade and I haven't put anything in my phone😊

Maybe people shouldn't get newer updates so we can protest how nokia keeps on lower the sound capacity of the phones!

You can't blame Nokia for abiding by the rules/legislation etc of its government!

(On a side note, the limitations are there for good reason - I'm not disagreeing in thinking it's too quiet, but it is there for good reason...)

There's probably a way of altering the limit, afterall nokia built them(kinda)-so maybe some (3rd party) software could make a difference in the sound levels.

Protest? I don't think Nokia would give a toss... :frown:

Can anybody with Firmware V3 and an aftermarket software player like LCG Jukebox tell us whether it affects that software as well?

Yes, it does. It's quiter and the quality is worse than V1.
