Just got this nice little Nokia BUT i cannot seem to set a custom ringtone or message alert tone. This runs on S60 third edition does anyone know how to do this? i would have thought that with everyone these days wanting to customize their phones so much that this was pretty much standard.

You set custom ringtones for people in the Contacts app.
For changing it for all callers, use the Profiles app.
Thaqnks for that maybe i did not explain myself i want to use a music file ie mp3 or equivalent as a ringtone and a message tone yet cannot seem to be able to use them. does anyone know a way? think i have figured out the music as a ringtone but not the message tone...

I use MP3s as ringtones or message tones all the time. Put the MP3 file in the \Nokia\Sounds\Digital directory in phone memory. or \Sounds\Digital on a memory card.
