Sound quality is very subjective. I have Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Chile as an MP3 ring tone and it can be heard clear across our reasonably noisy office. Personally I think the sound quality is great..... for a phone. Some people will tell you it's too quiet, poor quality, etc but it's a phone with a tiny speaker so it's always going to be limited. Heqdphones quality is in my opinion (again very subjective) extremely good.

like hammera said sound quality is subjective. i converted my music to high quality AAC and its really loud but i have played other music thats really soft too. so i dont think its the phone but more of the quality of the music you're playing.
i use an IMY ringtone (a single continuous high pitch/frequency beep) that i made using notepad and i could hear it from more than 100m away. so i really doubt its the speakers thats too soft.
Thanks Hammera and i5kd2 for relpying, can u tell me the quality of the loudspeaker when playing music at the max volume, is it clear.
It can be a little tinny at times and forget about anything heavy on bass (which is a bit of a bummer as a bass player) but it isn't too bad and does just fine sat at my desk when everyone else has gone home.
