Yesterday I received my M600i. I love it 😊 But when today I started adding my contacts (manually) I noticed a few things of which I was wondering if there is a better way. (I am using the dutch language, so it could be that some terminology are badly translated by me).
- The groups. Why is it there? Is it for use with mass-email? When I have a contact with 3 phone numbers and I add that contact to a group, only 1 of the 3 numbers are shown when you look at the contact within the group. When I go inside a group and select a contact... I can not call that contact so it is not usable as a search feature. Maybe using folders?
- When in the contacts list, I'd like to search for a contact. Which is possible. But only when you start typing the last name. Is there any way to change that to first name?
A lot of people's first name (in the netherlands) starts with 'van '. Also, when you search for someone in your familie, you have to first type almost the whole last name before you are ready to scroll. Maybe it needs some getting used to, but being able to have a different default search field would be nice. Maybe even a 'nick' or 'display name' field? A nick field would come in handy when sending someone an email.
If anybody has some good suggestions for my 'issues', that would be great.

About the "search in contact list" problem:
The only way to acomplish is to change the sort order of the contact list from default "Lastname, Firstname" to "Firstname, Lastname". You will then be able to search using Firstname only.
Which you by the way change by selecting "More" => "Settings" => "Sort by" when in Contacts.

That was the option I was looking for... I never noticed that I could scroll down in the menu.. But now I looked closer and.... there was the settings menu. Thank you so much 😊

I'm using a software DreamConnect 3 fromthat extends the contacts functionality and also lets you search for any part of the name that matches what you've entered or even any camp (number, city...)

Groups is so that you can have different ringtones/settings for different sets of contacts. I have a group with all my work contacts, and have specified a rintone for them (so I know when to ignore the call). 😊
After I updated the firmware, I can't find the "more > settings > sort" anymore. Am I missing anything?:frown:
