Installation of apps at start up

Hi Guys!
I have this problem that every time I turn on my phone, it is always trying to install apps which is really annoying. How can I stop this?
thanks and regards.

Find out what app is trying to install, go to the App Manager in Tools, find the offending App and delete it. Alternatively, if it isn't showing in App Manager, and it is one that was originally installed on the SD card, go to the System folder and find the offending folder within in and delete that. (WARNING - this way is dangerous and easy to delete the wrong thing. Make absolutely sure of what you're deleting first. I's easier to clear the whole SD card of system related things and then reinstall the apps you do require if you're at all unsure of what you're doing)

Yeah, as above! My phone started doing this just after i upgraded to n80ie. The reason was that I had backed up my phone without the memory card in and then once upgraded I put memory card back in the phone. Because applications were installed on the phone it was trying to find/install them.

As mentioned, best to back up your images/music files etc and reformat your memory card and install programs again

if you dont have a card reader it can be tricky as it generally doesnt allow you to use the phone in mass storage mode when its been silly like this (says memory card in use). You can get it to connect if you are quick or last time I did it this way:

-took memory card out
-pluged in datacable
-select mass storage, click ok
-put card in

then it should (hopefully) connect as mass storage before it realizes it has uninstalled apps etc.

-it would have been a lot easier if nokia hadn’t got rid of the safe mode (option to boot with no apps) when they went to s60v3!
