Hmmm..... methinks the HTC P5500 is looking awfully familiar - the screen size, the slider, the built-in GPS, the 3 megapixel stills camera, the Wi-Fi, etc. I doubt there are copyright issues at stake here, but you know what they say about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery... Nokia must be doing something right with the N95! I can't wait to review the two devices head to head in the summer.
Read on in the full article.
It reminds me more of the 7650... which isn't a bad thing either as it was a pretty good design even if the hardware inside is primitive by today's standards.

Haha! C'mon Steve, thats stretching it abit don't you think?
When i first saw it on Engadget, the comparison to the N95 wasn't even evident in my mind. It looks more like the other PDA phones HTC and IMATE are releasing.
So frankly, apart from a few spec similarities, i honestly don't see what you see.
It's running Windows Mobile for goodness sake! Seriously, is there any point in a comparison? WM is to mobile what Windows is to PCs - i.e. buggy, bloated, power-wasting, security risking crap. And this is not me trolling - I speak as a software developer of 20 years, and the internet is full of this opinion of Windows Mobile.
Not only that, but HTC via Microsoft ripped off Sendo's technology illegally and got sued as a result, which of course sadly killed Sendo.
Seriously, save your efforts. HTC, with Microsoft's assistance, are kings of the Asian rip-off merchants and always have been. Nokia's N Series have nothing to fear from the crap that comes out of HTC, other than from those with more money than knowledge or sense.

I see no problem here.
It's a number of state-of-the-mobile-art technologies in a slider smartphone.
So the time is here for such packages, no matter if from Finland or Taiwan.
What makes the difference is WM...
(...and the build quality - as for insance in HTC universal)

yup i agree with krisse. looks a lot more like a 7650 and not even remotely like an N95. nice specs though.
The way things are going, it will probably come out before the N95 as well.😊

uh....ok ajck, we get it! you dont like microsoft. chill 🙄
Single slider - covers nearly 40% or so of the current phones these days! doesnt look anything like the N95.
HTC doesnt do anything inovative anyway. They are not nearly as bad as Samsung who copy everything from everyone and claim it as their own!!
"It is expected to released in September 2007"
well Nokia will have like 4 months leading position on the market. I went today one store and they said Nokia N95 will (maybe) come to the market at week number 15. (9.4 - 15.4) in Finland.
will see what happens...
