N80i Whitescreen at startup

6 replies · 2,452 views · Started 12 March 2007

Hello,

I just bought a N80i and i have the following problem, after charging it for 7 hours.

I push the on/off button and a whitescreen appears. After a minute or so the following shows on the display:

Date (correct)
Time (correct)

And a message showing: "Offline".

These things stay on the display for about 5 seconds and dissapear afterwards. The whitescreen stays.

Could somebody please help me?

Erik

No, the phone doesnt work afterwards. The message disappears and the screen stays white, forever.....

Try a phone format, *#7370# - the lost of personal stuff is total:icon4: After, if works well, do a firmware upgrade. If not, go to a Nokia Service.

The phone doesnt react. If i hit a key, nothing shows up. The screen stays white and for the rest doenst do anything. I tryd a hard reset (green,*,3) + on key, but that doesnt work either.

Last chance: remove the battery for a long period - a day. Try again. If it continues not reacting, only Nokia Service can help.

If you have just bought it , you must have a waranty on it ! My advice is to bring it back and ask for a NEW phone and don't accept if they want to repair it. ( this take weeks before you get your N80 back )
