hi guys,
i've tried a few times to change the setting to save messages to my external 2GB memory card without avail.
it would ask me if i wanted to move all the old messages to the new memory and i'd click yes.
the first time, it just froze at about 30% and the second time, i had maybe 1% in the progress bar and it'd just return me to the standby screen with the setting still on 'phone memory'.
any help on why this is happening?
can i ask why you actually want to do this???, i was told a while ago that if the messages are stored on a memory card it can slow the phone down even further!!!,
I use the memory card for messages, reason being that there's room to accept large files via Bluetooth. I don't find that it slows the phone down.
for starters, i've over 1600 messages stored that takes up 24mb of the standard phone's memory.
that leaves me with very little left over for things as robnash has stated like large bluetooth files.
while we're on it, is there a way to change where bluetooth downloaded files go?
can i change a setting so that it saves the file straight onto my external memory card as opposed to it being saved on the phone?
Only by changing the "Memory in use" setting in the "Messaging" app (change it from phone memory to the memory card). All your incoming messages whether SMS, MMS or files sent via Bluetooth go to the same place.
