problem playing mp4 files

hello guys. I have just downloaded episode 118 of bleach in .mp4 format from bleachexile. When i tried to play it on my n73 using real player it gave me this error "unable to play either sound or video clip. Trying to play partially". Could this be a problem with the clip or should i try a third party mp4 player for n73?

Wirelessly posted (Nokia E70: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.0.6560/1633; en; U; ssr))

The realone player on your phone cannot play every version of the mp4 format,,therefore some clips will not play on your phone or play only partially(video only or audio only).
At the same time, the clip you are trying to play may be encoded at a higher bitrate which your phone may not support..
So you could do two of things..
1. Yes,you could try install a 3rd party app to try and play the clip.
2. You could install a video converter software on your PC and convert the software to a suitable format or bitrate that your phone will support.
3. Look for any other alternative to the above if they don't work.

thanks for the reply. I will try a 3rd party video player. Can you guys suggest some. (I would really prefer freeware 😊) thanks..

I also checked the clip details and it tell me that the resolution is 640x480 and the bitrate is 37kbps... so would this be playable using a 3rd party player or do i really have to convert?

That resolution seems to high to be supported on your phone.
May be better for you to just convert.

If you want to view it on the N73, you need to find another player, or convert it to a format that the N73 does support. See the "Audio & Video Feature Tables" here: http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/resources/technologies/audiovideo/

The N73 does support H.264/AVC format. I've tried it before and it played without any problem. I think the problem is when converting the video to H.264/AVC format, the frame rate/FPS should be set to 25. This is the frame rate that is supported by the N73. Some video converters is set to convert videos at 29.97FPS by default.

Try re-convert the video to H.264/AVC format@25FPS. It worked for me...

Good Luck...
