Hi people,
I have owned an N73 for a few months now and having put 1.8gB of mainly video files on my mem card, have had no problems until now.
I read a thread posted a while back about files going missing from the gallery but still being accessible either directly from the mem card or through RealPlayer.
Did anyone ever discover why this was happening and how to remedy the problem?
I am running the current firmware edition and have tried resetting the handset, both being unsuccessful.
Help Please
Hi,
I had the same problem and it drove me nuts.
I cured the problem by chance on my phone:
Open up 'Settings', 'active standby' and enable it. On your desktop click the icon for gallery and it should refresh its library. If you don't want to leave active standby enabled, go back and disable it. Your gallery should still work as normal from your usual short cut.
This happened for my phone but obviously no guarantee the same will apply to yours. Best of luck and let us know how you get on!
Cheers
Pheeel
Tried it but no joy.
Wouldn't have thought it was a software thing because i've reset the phone completely. ie. to the point where it asks for the country you're in.
It just wont automatically use the card when it's opening the gallery even though it uses the card to automatically save a photo. I'm going to try my card in another n73 tomorrow just to make sure it's the handset.
:con?
Have you guys tried running the slideshow to see if it will load the images?
Tried the slideshow and it just shows the photos in the phone's memory. Took it to the shop where I got it from today and they put my mem card into a different handset and the same happened.
It must be something to do with the memory card then. Just odd how one minute it worked fine then (I seem to remember saving a voice recording) nothing from the mem card showed in the gallery.
The items can all still be found through realplayer and the lifeblog viewer but its a bit of a long winded way to go.
😡
What is the brand of that memory card?

It sounds exactly like a software problem! The phone needs to be 'prodded' to get it to search for 'new' files for its libraries - even old files which it hasn't recognised so far.
Persevere with the refresh and reactivating of the 'active standy' and I believe you'll get there.
