MyStrands is a new 'community-based' music tool, here demonstrated on a Nokia N95. it's unashamedly Web 2.0 and needs flat rate data (or Wi-Fi), importing cover art for your music, finding other music you might like and friends with similar tastes, directly streaming samples of their music. Cool if you have a good connection. (Via S-F)

Hello - I gotta say that I prefer using The Filter - less web2.0 and you only need to be connected when you sync up your library which only takes a second. Highly recommended.
From what I can tell the app doesn't find songs on the memcard... My 2gb minsd where I have all my music... Have been using last.fm for a couple of years and built up a profile there... would love to see a s60 music player for that service 😊
I had the same problem as you. I emailed Mystrands and they explained that for some reasons the player only searches for music under some specific directories, like c:\MyMusic. That's annoying for someone like me that likes creating folders for each of his artists under "MyMusic" folder. Mystrands people sent me a new version correcting this problem, it is available from their labs page.
I like Social Player for a convincing reason, its community. If you only need to listen your hits from time to time, default player is enough for you, but Social Player is more than that. It helps you stay connected with your friends etc. I tried the Filter, too, but it seemed very basic to me.
